COVID-19 Update

COVID-19 Update

We recognize and follow the regulations set in place by our provincial health system and our regulatory body. Due to COVID-19, you will notice the following additional measures we’ve taken to ensure our staff and patients’ safety:

1. Patients will be required to answer several COVID-19 pre-screening questions over the phone when booking appointments. If you are immunocompromised or have a chronic medical condition, please consider booking your appointment in the morning. Please inform us prior to your appointment if you are not feeling well so that we can reschedule you. Do NOT show up to the office if you are experiencing any of the following: cough, sore throat, shortness of breath, runny nose, sneezing, post-nasal drip, loss of smell, with or without fever.

2. Prior to your visit, please check with your dental insurance provider to see if there have been any changes to your coverage. We cannot know every patients’ dental insurance coverage details, however, we can help you navigate it.

3. When you arrive, please wait in your car and call or text us to let us know that you’ve arrived. The receptionist will let you know when it’s safe to walk in.

4. Please limit accompanying caregivers or family members to 1 person and inform our staff prior to arrival for special accommodations. Our office has an 8 person maximum limit.

5. Upon entering the facility, please use the hand sanitizer provided and wear a mask. If you do not have a mask, we will gladly provide you with one. We will take your temperature with a touchless thermometer and ask you to fill out the COVID-19 screening questionnaire. Please maintain physical distancing of 6 feet (2 meters) with office personnel and stay behind the plexiglass barriers in reception. Our staff also complete a daily COVID-19 questionnaire prior to each shift to ensure the safety of anyone entering the facility.

6. Staff delivering dental treatment in the back will be wearing full PPE (personal protective equipment) including masks, surgical caps, face shields, gowns, gloves, and scrubs. During dental treatment, we will use a rubber dam and high volume suction as much as possible to reduce the spread of germs. Our office continues to follow the highest standards for infection control and hygiene measures.

7. When dental treatment has been completed, you will be escorted back to the reception area to process payment. Please hand sanitize before exiting the building and be sure to inform us immediately if you develop any symptoms of COVID-19 following your dental visit.

As always, Dr. Lim is available to speak with you directly should you have any concerns. Thank you for continuing to practice safety measures and social distancing!
