Office Policies

We encourage you to read through our office policies in order for you and your family to have the most positive experience possible. We believe in clear communications, making our patients feel comfortable, showing them the utmost respect and treating them like family.
 
New Patients
 
We are so proud of our new office and can’t wait for you to see it! You will have a chance to meet the wonderful staff at Garibaldi Crossing Dental and tour the facility. Dr. Lim will meet with you to discuss your goals and any concerns, your past medical and dental history and talk about your previous experiences. A comprehensive dental examination will be performed which includes any necessary photos and x-rays. Once all the information is gathered, Dr. Lim will review the options available to you to allow for the best outcomes and answer any questions you may have.
 
For adults, this appointment may last anywhere from 1-2 hours, depending on the complexity. For children, the appointment will be approximately 30-40 minutes. Please arrive 15 minutes early to fill out your New Patient Form. If you have concerns or anxiety about dental appointments, please let us know before you arrive and we can accommodate your needs. If you are a parent bringing in your child to see us, please use positive language so we can create a memorable first experience for them! It may be helpful to stop by in advance of your child’s appointment so that they can familiarize themselves with our offices and feel comfortable during their first appointment.

Referral Program
 
Our passion is to provide the best possible dental care to our patients. We value our patients that can attest to our efforts and feel privileged when they refer friends and family to us. We like to recognize these referrals with gift certificates to say Thank You!
 
Appointment Rescheduling and No-Show Policy
 
Life happens! We get it. However, just as we respect that your life is busy and you do not want to be kept waiting for your appointment, we in turn appreciate knowing when you are unable to make your appointment or are running late.
 
If you need to cancel or reschedule because of unforeseen circumstances, we kindly ask that you provide us with 24 hours’ notice for shorter appointments and 48 hours’ notice for major appointments booked for an hour or longer. This will allow us to modify our schedules and assist other patients waiting to be seen. We appreciate your consideration and co-operation. If we do not receive sufficient notice or you miss your appointment without contacting us, you may be charged a $50.00 fee. We really hope this isn’t necessary though so just give us a call. Communication is key in any family!
 
Insurance and Billing
 
We follow the fee guidelines provided by the College of Dental Surgeons of British Columbia. Our team can help maximize your insurance benefits and we accept all major Canadian dental insurance plans. We can provide an estimate of coverage and submit the claim to the insurance company on your behalf, however, given each plan is slightly different, we cannot guarantee your insurance will provide the full estimated coverage. Any difference will be applied to your account. If you wish to obtain approval in advance of the procedure in order to confirm the coverage amount, just let us know.
 
Payment
 
Payment is due upon completion of your dental appointment. We accept Debit, Visa, and Mastercard. For some comprehensive cases, we may be able to arrange flexible payment plans. If there is a balance owing on your account, we kindly ask for payment upon receipt of your invoice. Please contact us if you have any questions about your invoice and we will be happy to help!
